Debunking Common Energy Therapy Myths
There are plenty of reasons to love energy healing.
I set the record straight some of the most common misconceptions around energy therapy, so that you can confidently begin your journey.

You’ve probably heard of energy therapy or energy healing, but do you trust it?
There are still many misconceptions around energy healing which unfortunately deters people from giving it a chance.
Below I distinguish between fact and fiction and debunk some of the most common myths I hear about energy therapy.
Firstly,
WHAT IS ENERGY THERAPY?
Energy therapy helps to restore and balance our body’s energetic field by rechannelling and unblocking our existing energetic frequencies.[1]
Therapies can be carried out in many ways.
Two popular methods include reiki (systematic hand placement) and acupuncture (systematic needle placement.)
Most illnesses and diseases come from stress (a negative energy frequency) which stays stagnant in the body, damaging cell productivity.[2]
Energy therapy helps cells to recharge, restoring health and alleviating symptoms of pain and chronic illness.
So what are some of the myths I hear most?
1. THERE IS NO SCIENCE BEHIND IT
False!
In fact, there is a body of growing research in support of energy therapy.
The U.S. National Institute of Health stated that ‘the subtle energy in the human energy system can be easily modulated by your own hands.’
Our body, like the universe, is made up of vibrating energy frequencies that interact with each other at all times; this means we can stimulate energy inside of us to create positive change.
Electrodermal screening (EDS) measures our skin’s electrical resistance, detecting energy imbalances along the meridians (lines of energy flow) in the body.[3]
If we can detect it, we can attempt to treat it!
Reiki, in particular, has been shown to produce significant positive impacts on health.[4]
Hospitals now even use energy therapies, such as reiki, alongside traditional medicine; Harvard Medical School has one of the largest Energy Medicine research programs in the country!
2. ENERGY THERAPY WAS ONLY RECENTLY DISCOVERED
Incorrect!
According to Albert Szent-Gyorgyi, Biochemist and Nobel Prize Winner, ‘In every culture and every medical tradition before ours, healing was accomplished by moving energy.’
Eastern medicine[5], also known as traditional Chinese medicine, remains the oldest codified system of medicine in the world![6]
The chakras (energy points situated down the midline of the body) were originally described in ancient Hindu texts and meridians (our energy pathways) led Chinese medicine to the development of acupuncture.
Eastern medicine has been used for thousands of years.
3. IT CAN’T WORK ON EVERYONE
We are all made up of energy, right down to our very cells; this makes energy therapy accessible to absolutely everyone.
Being more receptive and positive toward therapy can help to improve your outcomes, but regardless, anyone can see the changes!
Make sure you always do your research and know what therapy you need before visiting a practitioner.

4. YOU CAN’T MAINTAIN RESULTS YOURSELF
While I do not encourage discontinuing any prescribed medicines or treatments, energy therapies can be a great addition to existing treatments and can be done yourself.
There are plenty of ways to top-up your energy (post treatment) from the comfort of your own home.
My Trilogy for Health program is a 12-step energy healing system that you can do yourself!
